HomeRally Privacy Policy

Status: Private pilot working draft. Review with a qualified attorney before public launch, paid plans, app-store distribution, or use outside invited pilot families.
Overview
HomeRally helps families coordinate household tasks, rewards, schedules, kitchen planning, groceries, recipes, pantry/inventory, feedback, and optional tutoring.
Current Pilot Data Location
The current local pilot stores data on the computer running HomeRally, usually in the HomeRally data folder and SQLite database. A future cloud beta would store data in cloud infrastructure such as a hosted application server, managed database, file storage, backups, logging, and security services.
Information We May Collect
HomeRally may collect household name, household code, parent and child names, roles, ages, grades, PIN/login information, chores, approvals, points, rewards, schedules, meals, recipes, grocery items, pantry/fridge/freezer inventory, tutor answers and progress, feedback, imported recipe files, and pantry/fridge/freezer photos if scan features are used.
HomeRally may also collect technical information such as login attempts, IP or local network address, browser/device details where available, app version, server status, error logs, diagnostics, AI usage events, and feature usage counts.
Sensitive Information
During the private pilot, do not enter sensitive financial, medical, legal, government-ID, school-login, or highly private information.
Child Information
Parents control child setup and should supervise child use. Parents may request to review, correct, delete, export, or stop further collection/use of child information. Before public launch, HomeRally should implement a formal parent request workflow and child privacy contact process.
How Information Is Used
HomeRally uses information to sign users in, separate households, show household workflows, generate plans and suggestions, help parents review work, improve usability, diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and protect accounts. HomeRally does not use household data for behavioral advertising.
AI And Third-Party Processing
Optional AI features may send limited information to an AI service when AI is enabled, such as grade level, subject, skill, answer text, recipe ingredients, pantry items, household goals, dietary notes, schedule context, or scan images. HomeRally should minimize child identifiers sent to AI services where possible.
Photos And Uploaded Files
Pantry/fridge/freezer photos may contain personal information, faces, home details, locations, or metadata. Do not upload photos of children or sensitive household spaces during the pilot.
Sharing And Disclosure
HomeRally may share information with service providers needed to operate the app, such as cloud hosting, database, file storage, backup/logging/monitoring, AI, email, or authentication providers. HomeRally does not sell household data.
Security
HomeRally uses safeguards appropriate for the pilot stage, such as household separation, PIN hashing for new PINs, login attempt recording, parent-only admin actions, and backups. Public launch should include stronger production security controls and regular review.
Retention
HomeRally should keep personal information only as long as needed for family organization, support, security, legal obligations, or product improvement. Before public launch, HomeRally should define specific retention windows.
Parent Controls
Parents should be able to add, edit, or remove family members, update PINs, disable features, export household data, request deletion, and control whether children can switch task lists on a shared device.
Changes
This policy may change as HomeRally moves from local pilot to cloud beta and public launch. Material changes should be communicated to parents.
Contact
During the private pilot, contact the HomeRally pilot administrator who invited you. Before public launch, replace this with the official company name, support email, privacy contact, mailing address if required, and child privacy contact information.
